THE DAVID NEIL CLINE BAND - A PIECE OF HISTORY: THE BEST OF
ROCK IT UP RECORDS
METAL TO INFINITY
If you are into Classic Hard Rock / Heavy Metal music but still unfamiliar with The David Neil Cline Band, i should say 'stay and listen very closely'. To all those hooked on 'modern ways of Metal music', get the hell outta here please! Under license from Gezochtahagen Records, German based Rock It Up Records came show up with the release of "A Piece Of History - The Best Of" from an early eighties formed group, leader of the band was multi instrumentalist David Neil Cline.
DNC is a true guitar wizard, an outstanding bass player, a brilliant singer, user of Hammond Organs since a very long time...David gets my complete appreciation for sure. Musicians like him, i will bow down to show my respect! Always surrounded by 'skilled to the bone' bandmembers, one of them was bassist J.D. Donnely - unfortunately passed away on November 26 - 2004. In memory, you'll hear this brother's talents on several tracks featuring "A Piece Of History - The Best Of" which is an amazing 'classic one' that is fulfilled with nothing but superb old fashioned Rock 'n' Metal songs. All remixed versions, taken from the band's three released albums "A Fit Of Rage"('85/'87), "Malefic Influence" ('87/'89) and "Thorough Scrutiny" (2001)....four songs of each one of these coming your way out. Also, this 'Best Of' album features 2 never-heard-before songs...fans of rare, hard to find stuff, hurry up and order fast!
Listen to all those featuring songs makes me feel 'upper-good'! Back to an era where it all began actually, no music like Classic Hard Rock or Metal is my standpoint. Old school but 'magnificent' for myself...i really still can't get enough of it. Remember bands like Black 'n' Blue, early Dokken/Riot, Rush, Triumph, Santers, Montrose, Robin Trower,...and you're pretty close with the style The David Neil Cline Band has to offer. Cool riffs, excellent guitar shreds, clean 'awesome' vocals, loads of melodic parts, great breaks/ bridges... to make these songs one by one phenomenal. Traditional to the core, these Americans means pure nostalgy to me and i'm sure that maniacs experienced the early 80s will agree with me. I can mention a few songs, really worth to listen at but this time i refuse to do that simply because of all the present works on it are so damn awesome, i recommend to check them out one by one...you won't be unhappy, on the contrary, i bet your heart will be completely fulfilled for more than 65 minutes with total recreation, pleasure and joy!
The good news is that David is currently busy with the recordings of a brand new album (yes, you read it well!!), planned to be released in the fall of 2008. As bonus, there will be a DVD with footages of David's live performances he delivered so far. I've already make notice of it and you should better do the same. Classic Hard Rock and Metal music is still with us to rule the earth, that's proved here once again! My rating this time goes far above the average straight to the maximum...MY POINTS: 95 / 100
