METAL TO INFINITY
From out of Germany STF-records sent us the second CD of Death Metal band To Resist Fatality. Germany has never been a top country if we talk about extreme forms of Metal, except for Thrash Metal. I suppose the talent is out there but most bands were overshadowed by the famous mainstream bands. It shows once more how strong Germany is in our Metal scene.
To Resist Fatality can be considered as a melodic Death Metal band. The rhythms and arrangements are powerful, dark and heavy at the one side but the focus on melodic lines is present at the other side. Especially when you hear the harsh vocals you will decide how mean and sinister this band is. Singer Andreas is responsible for the screams but often he's supported by guitar-player Nils with clean vocals. A combination of both styles is more used the last years and the effect still works.
To Resist Fatality mixes several tempi in their songs. Because of the overload of power it gives an overwhelming effect. At the other hand these guys can't hold my attention. To be honest I was bored after a few songs. I suppose it is because of the lack of recognizing arrangements. Although most of the time melodic tunes are included they never actually touched my soul. Is it the fault of the band? No, it is up to me...
I admit I'm not the biggest fan of extreme forms of Metal but that doesn't mean my opinion is less fair. To Resist Fatality is a band you should check out yourself. Maybe you will come to another conclusion than mine. My Points: 79/100 (Review by Officer Nice)
