TRAZOM - A RECLAMATION OF POWER
INDEPENDENT
METAL TO INFINITY
Yesterday the 28th of April 2009, a package stamped in Ohio, USA fell down in my postal mailbox. I've contacted Trazom via myspace a while ago after I heard some of their songs. I knew quite immediately these guys were just awesome in offering US Power / Thrash Metal as it should be! US Metal prevails again, check it out...
Formed in the Spring of 2007 by Harsh Manner's members James 'Vomitbomb' (guitar), Matt McKeon (drums) - also Shotgun Justice members Adam Patchin (bass) and guitarist Reese Colaner joined the Trazom ranks shortly after. For some particular reason, bassist Adam stepped out of the core and the band still looked out for a decent singer which was found by the name of Joe 'Facegrater' Halley who was previously a Harsh Manner member. Recruiting a bass player seemed to be not that easy but finally a long time mate named Brandon Covey helped them out of their misery. He came with big ambitions but unfortunately, he took the decision to leave the band!
Line-up completed, ready to rumble and locked and loaded with the right feel for Power / Thrash Metal highly skilled - Trazom recorded their first 3 song demo ''Demons In His Head'' quite shortly after. These young aged Metal addicts became a well know formation in the Northeast Ohio Metal area, they've thrashed many stages so far and I'm sure there will be many more in the future because they're good - real good actually.
Everything went good oiled, they were resolute going all the way to record a debut EP which they did early this year. Entitled ''A Reclamation Of Power'' is available right now - loaded with 5 new songs plus three bonus tracks (the full ''Demons In His Head'' demo) - this is an output damn able to blow my head away! The blend of US Power Metal and the American way of Thrash Metal is fantastic. This is how I like my Power / Thrash Metal the most of all. Clear vocals (sometimes with high pitched passages / sharp aggression from within), awesome up-tempo rhythms at one side, the other side can be defined as excellent high speed velocities, power blasting drums and howl hard bass lines... I will also warn you for pure technical, guitar shred tactics to the extreme.
The five new tracks have a running time of more than 30 minutes plus approximately 22 min. from the bonus songs... make the addition yourself and see youll get a full CD instead of an EP only. I'd like to mention Trazom's website already so you know where to order this brilliant piece of US Metal. Here it is: www.myspace.com/trazomband . The sound quality is satisfactory good equal to nice looking the cover art. You'll hear the great 'Natural Disaster' and 'Demons In His Head' twice - I mean, totally reworked / remastered as songs standing strong on the new EP... the demo versions of these are added as bonus tracks too.
We at Metal To Infinity have a special bond with US Metal since the very early 80s scene. It's in our veins and we won't let it out - speaking for myself, i'm very satisfied with Trazoms' style of Metal. Very technical, fully ambitious and to me, they will stand the competition amongst many others with pride and glory. They're maybe young and restless but it's obvious that there is a lot of potential to detect.
Meanwhile, they found a replacer for bassist Brandon by the name of Kyle Hite (Crucified Mortals). Fans of Razor Fist, Crown The Lost, Desecrate, Conquest, H.M.P,... should find their way to Trazom right away. Maybe you're not familiar with these mentioned ones but believe me on my word, they all mean superb US Metal to me. What they need and deserve is a fair chance to grab on a record deal so start spread the news around immediately by the grace of the almighty US Metal movement! MY POINTS: 97 / 100
